DIY Gold Stars In A Jar

let it shine!

Well, since my best friend is going through a gold addiction lately, I fugured why not make my first post, a gold post. Do you want a little gold in your room too? Nothing crazy but just enough? Well then, this DIY is for you! It is super simple and super cheap!

 Things you'll need:
  • scissors
  • a mason jar (i used one that was lying around my kitchen. You can use any you like)
  • curling ribon (i couldn't find one in gold so i just bought a gold decor flower and used the ribon from it)
If you decide to get the same decor flower, first you'll need to open it up without damaging the ribon too much. Be careful with that. Trust me,it rips easy. This part will be the hardest. You can use a paper instead of ribbon. I prefer ribbon because it gives a shine to the stars.
If you cant find a gold ribbon, you can always use a white ribbon and spray paint it golden.

Alright, so first, grab the end of the ribon, cross it behind and make a upside down tear shape, as shown in the picture below.

Then, grab the smaller end of the ribbon and pass it all the way through the tear circle.

Once through, press down on the ribbon. You should have a pentagon looking shape by now.

Fold the smaller end of the ribbon towards you, and the longer end, behind the pentagon, over, and, then across as shown below.

keep folding the ribbon around the pentagon. Let the star guide you ;)

Now, once you feel like the pentagon is thick enough, cut the ribbon and insert it through the triangle on the star as follow. You should now have a thick pentagon.

Now comes the fun part! Push into the side of the pentagon as shown below,

and keep at it until you have done the same on all sides. You should now have your first star!

Following the same method, you can make as many stars as you like! Put them in a jar or paste them on your wall! You can even use these to decorate your frames. Be creative!

Make them gold!

   Or make them colorful!

Sky is the limit!

DIY Fish Scale Wall Art

Greed for Gold!

So basically, right now i'm having gold addiction, i mean, i'm just in love with gold. Gold gold gold everywhere for me. From gold walls (my previous post) to gold pumps and gold nails! If it was for me, i would have painted my entire house gold! but oh well, gotta control.
And since i'm seeing gold everywhere, i couldn't help but try this gorgeous diy fish scale wall art piece. So here it is.

Alrighty, so shall we start?

Things you need:
- 3 to 4 gold colored sheets (i used the ones which are white from one side and gold from the other)
- Scissors
- Pen
- Round shaped cookie cutter (i used a tape though)
- Glue
- Card board

Step #1
On the white side of your sheet, draw the circles, i used a tape to do that.

Step #2
Cut out circles. Now this might take a hell lot of time and energy.

Step #3
Draw lines, 2 centimeter from the edge of your card board sheet. On all four sides.

Step #4
Paste a strip of golden sheet on the bottom of your cardboard, above the line you drew, and paste circles over it.

Step #5, final step
Cover the entire cardboard sheet with circles making a fish scale pattern.

And, TADA!

DIY Gold Wall Tutorial

Gloss Me In Gold.
When you walk in your room, lemme ask you, do you think its too boring and plain? Do you think you should go buy Elle decor magazines and get some ideas to buy those fancy decor and interior pieces that are just too expensive? But then you're like, never mind, i'd rather buy me some good shoes in half the price. Well, you don't need to do that, cause this DIY gold wall is gorgeous and inexpensive. But lemme just tell you, it needs a lot of hard out and time. So prepare your self!

So lets Start?
Things you need:

- Marie's White acrylic paint, 5 tubes ( i used it to cover graffiti and writings on my wall, you can use it to cover any marks or stains on your wall.)
- Gold acrylic paint, 10 tubes ( i used acrylique paints)
- Gold spray paint, 10 cans.

Before starting i want to show you guys how my wall looked before, so here it is:

Step #1

Cover any marks or stains on your wall and hide them using white acrylic paint.

Step #2

Cover the entire wall with gold acrylic paint, i used thick paint without any water so the strokes are visible.

Step #3, final step.

Now, spray it all with a coat of Golden spray paint. This will add shine and neatness.

And, TADA!

Tips:
- Cover the edges of other walls with fabric tape
- Cover switch boards with tape and newspaper
- You might need to cover the floor too with newspaper so the paint won't drop on floor
- When spraying, you might need to wear a face mask, cause of the smell.
