MARCH MUST HAVE - Face Care

Clearasil
Acne Be Gone!

THE SCIENCE OF LOOKING FLAWLESS!

Looking flawless is no accident. It takes times and the right products.
We've all been through that awkward stage of pimples and acne breakouts. And it's fair to say that it's not something we enjoy having on our skin. Ever had an important event coming up which you're all excited about and than waking up the morning of the event to find a huge zit on your forehead? yup, we've all been there.
Pimples can give a very unhygienic and impure look to our skin. And when they finally go away they leave that dirty black marks which seem impossible to get rid off. But don't worry there are a few products that can get rid of our unwanted friends with the right use and some patient.
I came across this amazing product for acne a month ago and i couldn't help but share it with you guys. Not only does it get rid of the pimples with time but it also reduces the marks and spots left behind. This product is a must have for those going through acne or trying to get rid of some unwanted spots.
I picked mine up from Al-fatah, though I believe you can find it anywhere.
I started getting breakouts and soon my forehead and right cheek were infused with tiny pimples. Every morning i would wake up with a new blob on my face. Clearasil helped me get rid of them big time!! And it also made my skin shinier, clearer and of course flawless. I always believed that for flawless makeup you first need  flawless skin. Not only will you be using waaayy less makeup on your face, you'll also feel a lot more excited about trying out different products and looks.
Okay, enough blabbing, lets get to the deets!!
Okay so, No one wants to read difficult names of acids and chemicals found in this product. I never liked that part of a review so let's skip that, yeah?
However there are a few pointers you might want to know about the face wash. It is perhaps a very strong formula, it will strip your skin of all the oil and dry it out. This is a big win for people with extra oily skin. However if your skin is sensitive and dry like mine, you'll experience dry patches around the T zone of your face, but don't freak out, its nothing a little moisturizer can't fix. I suggest all of you to try it out and see how it suits you before you start using it daily.
The formula is a very creamy light blue colored mixture. You need a very small amount of it and it's enough to cover your face and neck. Dab some in your palm and using your finger apply it to your face just like you would do with a normal mask. Keep it away from your eye area! Since the formula is very strong, the stink will burn your eyes a little at first, but it's nothing to worry about unless you're not getting is anywhere near your eyes. You can use this product both ways. As a mask or as a wash;

Directions of use

  • As a wash, wet face, and squeeze a small amount into hands
  • Massage gently onto face avoiding the delicate eye area
  • Rinse
  • As a mask apply on to wet face
  • Leave on for 1 minute and rinse
Use as a wash 2-3 times daily and as a mask use it twice or thrice in a week. You'll start to see difference in about 5 days.
I really hope this helps all you girlies get rid of your unwanted guests, and if they ever reappear..You know now how to kick them out!!

10 Minute Flawless Face.

With easy steps to perfect eyeliner!
I'v recently discovered this amazing lip shade by Lo'real paris and i'm falling in love with it more and more everyday! Planning on wearing it tonight on my graduation too. And to go with this amazing, amazing lip shade, i have this amazing-er (that's not even a word) blush by Dolce and Gabbana in Nude shade! OH MY! wait till you see it. This blush also have a touch of very light gold shimmer in it so you dont need to apply highlighter.
To be very honest, i don't like to wear foundation each time i head out, so i apply a very light coverage, enough to blur my redness (i have a little redness on my forehead and nose) thank God for i don't have dark circles. And lastly, the eyeliner! i go for liquid eyeliner with very thin edge brush and i'm using Colorstudio Eye Stylist liquid eye liner in this tutorial. Make this tutorial your everyday makeup look and you'll rule the world!

Things you need:

- Dolce&Gabbana blush in Nude
- Bobbi Brown blush brush
- Lo'real paris 101 rose melody lipshade
- Colorstudio eye stylist eyeliner
- essence get big lashed mascara
- Lo'real infallible foundation
- Bourjois waterproof golden eye pencil.

step #1 Face.

Cover your entire face with a very light coat of foundation, starting from covering your under eye first. You can make an upside down triangle under your eyes and fade them in using your fingers. Dot your nose, forehead and chin with foundation and fade it with finger tips. Do not ever apply too much foundation as it gets oily later, specially in summers.

Step #2 eyes!

Next thing you do is apply your eye liner. Start with the outer eye area moving towards the inner eyelid. To make this easy for you see the below guide to perfect eyeliner!

In just 4 easy steps you can achieve your perfect eyeliner! Practice makes perfect.

Cover your inner lower eyelid with golden eye pencil. Once you're done with this, apply your mascara and you're done with your eyes.

Step#3 Blush!

Easiest of all is applying blush, we're not talking about the professional bridal blush here, it's just the daily blush i'm talking about. So grab a brush, rub it in your blush and apply to your cheeks to give it a very light color and glow. Too much pink or rosey cheeks looks bad. Ah-ah! Keep it light, blush, foundation, everything. To give you face a little more color and glow, use your brush (without rubbing it too much in the blush) to just brush your chin and upper forehead a little, just a little!

Step#4 Lips!

Finish your look by applying Lo'real 101 lipshade on your lips. Its very light and rosey. Perfect lips for summers. The best part about this is that it's glossy and comes with a gloss brush so you don't need to worry about drawing your lips perfectly like Kendall Jenner's. Just apply, seriously though apply it just like a 6 year old would.

And you're ready!

Cinnamon Rolls

"Cinnabon" Cinnamon Rolls
I sort of have a thing for cinnamon, like i do for Oreo. Oreo is my life, the fact that it looks exactly like my life too, with black part for my sad sad life and white layer of cream for the happiness i can't be more thankful for. Cinnamon is my next favorite flavor, okay maybe blueberry is my second favorite and then comes Cinnamon, let's just say i'm a big fat sweet tooth and i crave for every desert in the world, except the ones with fruit in it. I am not a big fan of fruit. (except for blueberries)
These pillowy cinnamon rolls are like clouds in your mouth, totally to die for. And the cream cheese frosting is sweet and light and cloudy. The thing is, to keep these rolls soft and fluffy you'll have to be very patient with the dough and careful with the preheated oven and temperature. The first time i made these, i ended up with not-so-soft rolls, turned out i added a little more flour and my oven was too hot, my dough developed a crust too quick and therefore it discouraged a full rise and it got harder. But they weren't hard as concrete, they tasted exactly like the one's i made today, today's rolls were, i-just-can't-put-them-in-words, i want more of them. Yeah. They were, delicious! simple as that.

Ingredients:
For the dough:
3/4 cup warm water
2 and 1/4 teaspoon dry active yeast
half cup granulated or caster sugar
half teaspoon salt
1/4 cup buttermilk (to make your own buttermilk, see the end of the recipe)
1 egg
1/3 cup oil
4 and 1/2 to 5 cups all-purpose flour (self rising will work too)

For the filling:
1 and 1/4 cups light brown sugar
2 and half tablespoons ground cinnamon
2 tablespoons cornstarch (cornflour)
half cup unsalted butter

For the cream cheese frosting:
half cup cream cheese
4 tablespoons butter
vanilla extract
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 and 1/4 cups powdered/icing sugar.

Directions:
In a bowl, add water, yeast and 1 tablespoon caster sugar. Stir together , then let the yeast rise for about 5 to 10 minutes. In a small bowl, whisk together buttermilk, egg, and oil until well mixed. After 10 minutes pour buttermilk mixture to the yeast mixture and stir together for 10 to 15 minutes, add the rest of the sugar and mix again.
Pour in 2 cups of flour and stir with a dough hook blender on low speed. Keep adding flour and blend on low until the dough is thick and a little sticky. Your dough reaches its perfect thickness when you touch it with your fingers and it does not stick to them.

Transfer dough to a greased bowl and cover it with plastic food wrap. Let it set for about 1 to 2 hours or until it doubles in size.

Prepare the filling: In a small bowl, mix together the sugar, cinnamon and cornstarch. Put it aside.

Butter a baking tray and line it with butter paper and grease it with butter again

Once dough has risen, flour a large area and roll the dough, try to make it as rectangular as possible. Roll until the dough is half inch thick. Spread the butter on the dough leaving 1 inch area on the edges. Sprinkle cinnamon sugar mixture over the butter. Then start to roll the dough over the mixture and slightly press it into butter. Roll up the dough into a tight log, cut off any uneven ends. Use a sharp knife to cut the dough into small equal rolls. Put the rolls in greased baking tray and leave for 2 more hours in a warm place, to let the dough rise a little more.

Bake the rolls in preheated 180 to 200 degree oven for 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown. DO NOT OVER BAKE! Or they turn hard.

When rolls are baking, make the frosting: In a bowl add the cream cheese and butter and whisk with a hand electric mixer. Add vanilla and lemon juice and mix again. Pour in powdered sugar and whisk again. Then increase speed of mixer to full and mix for 5 minutes.

Take out the baked rolls and use a fork to take them off the tray. Pour the frost over the rolls, not to cover them completely though, use a spoon to make a lines of frosting on top of rolls like shown in the pictures.

And there you have your rolls!

Buttermilk Recipe:
Things you need:
One cup Milk
4 tablespoons white vinegar or fresh lemon juice

Directions:
In a cup of milk, add vinegar or lemon juice, mix. (i prefer adding vinegar instead of lemon juice) Leave the mixture for 10 to 15 minutes before you can use it! This is buttermilk, if it's not available anywhere in the market where you live, you can make it at home this way.

The No-makeup Makeup

Glowing Everyday Makeup Look
With just some regular makeup products you can get your everyday glowing makeup look. If you ask me i prefer matte look more than i prefer shimmery glowing makeup, but in winters a little bit of glow on the face looks picture perfect and gives a fresh feel. And that glow comes from the perfect highlighter and a rosy blush (rosy shimmery blush is the magic product here). This make up look does not require any kind of bronzer, it's a very light and fresh look for everyday routine, perfect for college girls ;)

Before i start with the tutorial let me introduce you to the best highlighter products in town.

Liquid highlighters are like my favoruite, and the best one is elf. In pressed powder form, one of the very best highlighter that's not mentioned above is Diorskin Nude highlighter and that's like the best thing ever, for fair skin go with pink and light gold and for tan skin a shade darker of rose gold/metallic gold.

Now let's begin with the tutorial, shall we?
So for the products, you'll need:
- Maybelline Dream Liquid Mousse (i have fair skin)
- Mac extra dimension skinfinish Whisper of gilt
- essence all about CURL mascara
- essence white eye pencil
- essence silky touch blush baby doll
- Bourjois 3D effect lipgloss 07

Step #1

Cover your entire face with Dream Mousse foundation, specially under eye area, create an upside down triangle under the eye and blend, this way your dark circles will be covered perfectly. For the nose, use your finger tip to draw a straight line and blend downwards. On the forehead, cover the area between your eyebrows and the area right above them, blending it upwards to your hair line.

Step #2
After you're done with your face, do the eyes first, what i did here is i painted my lower lash line with essence white eye pencil and applied mascara, that's it. Though for a fancier look you can apply eyeliner, i skipped it here though.

Step #3

Next comes the Blush and highlighter. Using angled contour brush apply highlighter on the cheek bones, nose, above the eyebrows, a little bit on the chin followed by essence silk touch blush on the cheeks and a bit on chin and under hair line. See the picture for help. Oh and a bit of highlighter above the lips too.
RED: Highlighter
BLUE: blush

Step #4
The lips. Apply Burjois 3D lipgloss on you lips and you're ready!

Here's something to help you.

Enjoy!
