Back To School

What's in her bag?
Makeup Edition: Basics.

Let's talk about makeup, NO, let's first talk about wearing makeup in summers. We all have to deal with oily skin, lipstick fading away and makeup melting down in sun, don't we? We all run around searching for the perfect foundation and long lasting lipstick that may get us through the day. I have been doing my research all summers, using different foundations and listing down the ones with best results. I have picked out my favorites for you to try, and i assure you, you will love them as much as i do. So let's see what's in my back-to-school bag?

Foundation: Clinique superbalanced liquid foundation. Why's this my favorite? It has a very natural coverage, perfect for daily wear, it's light on the skin and feels like you have nothing on. Sets perfectly, covers dark spots and pimples and don't make them gray. Also, the best part, your face won't be getting oily and sticky if you have this on, my word, it absorbs oil when and where needed and balance out on your face, so you won't have to worry about getting shiny face under sun.

Lipstick: MAC lipstick in brave. Why's this my favorite? first, the color. Second, it's long lasting. The color is truly adorable, it's life saving trust me on this one. It looks natural and the fact that it's matte, makes me fall in love with this lipstick more and more. it brightens your face even on your tiresome days. It's a very natural looking shade of pink. You won't regret buying this one.

Lip stain: revlon colorburst lacquer lip balm - 130 Tease Seductrice. Why's this in my back-to-school bag? It's for those special days when i'm looking for a boost of confidence and fresh looking face. It's peachish shade gets me in the mood and the fact your lips feel a hint of mint when you wear it makes me keep this balm in my bag all the time.

Mascara: Rimmel London Wonder'full Mascara. Why i love this? My eye lashes are very light and barely even there, this magic wand makes them look heavy and volumized. Also, it has argan oil in it, which is good for the lashes, so wearing mascara everyday won't be hurting you or your lashes anymore. Infact, it's good for them.

Hair serum: John Frieda Frizz-ease Nourishing oil serum. Why's this in my bag? It saves me from having a bad hair day. I won't recommend this to people with oily hair, but for me and every one who knows the struggle of having dry, frizzy hair, will love what this serum do to your hair. It makes them look silky and manageable. Plus, it comes with Argan oil too!

Perfume: Juicy Couture Gold couture. Why.. well, this is my scent, It has to be in my bag.

Bag: Gifted to me by my better half, Azka Saifullah. <3

Crazy Volume Curls

With Flat Iron!
I used to use curling rod/iron to curl my hair until one day I had to get ready, and I couldn't find my rod. That's when i discovered that i can curl my hair using my flat iron, and that's when i found i can curl better this way and quicker! Flat iron curls are heavy volume as well, also, you can use your flat iron for beach waves, heavy waves, loose curls and blow dry waves as well! Isn't that like the best thing ever?
So here's my tutorial on how i curl my hair using flat iron. I don't use heat protection (i know i should). And if you ask me for recommendation, i'd suggest you to go for TRESemme Heat Tamer Spray or L'Oreal Elentt Heat Defence Spray.

Here's my straightener. I use Remington and I'd suggest you to use it too.

Here's what i do:
To curl your hair: Take a thin section of your hair and hold the straightener near your roots, straightener must be straight (horizontal) and slowly curl a little (less than 180 degrees) and pull, towards the ends, you must do this very slowly holding the straightener very tight. To make this clear and better to understand see the video below.

And.. enjoy!

All you need to know!
Maintaining your hair is not an easy task, selecting the right products to use, from shampoos to Oils and conditioners can be very tricky. Knowing what type of hair you have is important in selecting products for hair. Hair is made of protein, so keeping a healthy diet is essential too. My post tells you about what you can do at home to get unbelievably beautiful hair! Also, it'll be guiding you about the right products you should be using.

For hair growth, may i present you the miracle mask! Trust me, this one's plain magic. I recently had my hair cut, Inverted bob, and not that i didn't like it or anything, but i wanted my hair to grow as fast as it can and with this mask, my hair happen to grow faster then ever! In like a month i noticed my hair growth was fast and my hair were thicker and fuller! You can see the difference in the picture below, two months later results. (p.s i know i gained weight in my second picture so ignore my fat face, haha)
Mask recipe is very simple, based on the fact that Mustard powder warms the skin of head and causes a rush of blood to the hair follicles.

Magic of Mustard powder.

Things you need:
2 tablespoons of dry Mustard powder
4 tblspns of hot water (not boiling)
1 egg yolk
2 teaspoons of olive oil
2 teaspoons of sugar

Directions:
Add water to mustard powder till its smooth and mixed properly, add the yolk, mix, add oil and sugar and mix. Apply to the roots. You can use a thick brush to apply it evenly. Let the mask on for about an hour and then wash your hair with shampoo, twice to get every bit of the mask washed away. Do this twice every week and you'll be noticing the result in a month!

Next comes, Hair Repair Mask.
For softer, lighter hair, may i present you the hair repair mask that won't disappoint you, na-ah, it can't. I do this very often and this one's my favorite! It's very simple and has just three ingredients that you can easily find in your very own kitchen!

Things you need:
2 tbsp honey (organic)
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp apple cider vinegar

Directions:
Mix all ingredients in a small bowl until they are well combined. On dry, unwashed hair, apply to the roots and through combing your hair distribute evenly. Clip you hair up and leave the mask on for an hour. Wash, shampoo well and use conditioner if you would like. Happy healthy hair!

Sombre hair 2014

Ombre, out. Sombre, in.
Have you heard of the term Sombre yet? Ombre has been popular for a couple of years now, its currently out and Sombre is currently in. Sombre is like a lighter and softer version of ombre hair dye. Sombre can also be referred to a softer melting technique.
I'm loving this technique because its barely there, settle, and its insanely sexy, not to mention very fresh. Just remember when get this technique done to your hair, you want to go no more then two shades lighter at the end.

Ash blonde Ombre Vs. Red Sombre

I got my Ombre hair like almost 2 weeks before my sisters wedding, i'm not saying it didnt look good, i just didnt want to have this lighter shade at the end of my hair. And now that i finally, FINALLY, got Sombre, i'm loving it! Its soft and just the colour i wanted. Plus its super sexy! PLUS ITS RED!

So here are some of the Sombre hair ideas that you should totally try. Oh! and before you go out to get your hair done, feel free to contact me for the tips and precautions! I love to help.
